If you have not yet confirmed our last GTC adjustment, a window will appear each time you open the app (maximum once a day) and before each purchase, asking you to confirm it. Which tickets can be purchased with the check-in/check-out function?
You can now be charged for the following tickets easily via check-in/check-out:
- One-way ticket for adults (also for MOVE+)
- Short-haul single journey for adults (also for MOVE+)
- One-way ticket child
- 24-hour ticket for one adult (valid in all MDV fare zones except 110 Leipzig)
- 24-hour ticket for one child (valid in all MDV fare zones except 110 Leipzig)
- 24-hour ticket Plus for 1 adult (valid in fare zone 110 Leipzig)
Note: It is currently not yet possible to take children, dogs and bulky luggage with a ticket using the check-in/check-out function. Please buy an extra ticket or a children's ticket using the "Buy ticket" function in the LeipzigMOVE app or at the ticket machine. It is possible to purchase an additional ticket via "Buy ticket" at the same time as using the check-in/check-out function.
In which means of transport and in which fare zones can the check-in/check-out function be used?
The check-in/check-out function can be used on the routes of almost all local transport companies in the Central German Transport Association (MDV). Journeys in on-demand services such as Flexa in Leipzig and in flexible forms of service that operate without a timetable (e.g. Flex on-call bus) are currently still excluded. In MDV Nord (Wittenberg, Anhalt-Bitterfeld, Dessau-Roßlau), the check-in/check-out function can only be used on local trains. Buses and streetcars are excluded. The MDV conditions of carriage and fare regulations apply. You can find out more about the MDV area here.
Who can buy tickets via the check-in/check-out function?
Both adults and children (from school age up to 14 years) can use the check-in/check-out function to purchase tickets in LeipzigMOVE. A fully registered profile is required. You can find instructions on how to register here.

I have questions about my booking. Who can I ask?
If you have any questions about a specific bike sharing, scooter sharing, car sharing or cab booking or a ticket purchase, you can ask us directly by clicking on "Help" from your active booking. From there, you will be automatically forwarded to our customer service team.
I can't get a Deutschland-Semesterticket via LeipzigMOVE and get an error message instead.
This error message can have various causes. Below you will find a description of the most common errors and possible solutions.
Your name data stored at the university is incomplete.
In order to issue a Deutschland-Semesterticket, we need the first and last name provided by your university. If this data is incomplete, you will receive an error message. Please contact the student administration of your university and have your data completed.
The travel authorization period is not transmitted by your university
It may happen that we do not receive a travel authorization period from your university. This can have various causes and prevent your Deutschland-Semesterticket from being issued - e.g. if you have not re-registered for the semester or have not paid the semester fee in full.
Please contact the student administration of your university to have the case checked and to obtain a travel authorization.
Driving license already issued.
The Deutschland-Semesterticket can only be linked to a LeipzigMOVE account. It is no longer possible to link the ticket to another account once the ticket has been created.
If your ticket has already been issued by another person unknown to you, please use the contact form in the LeipzigMOVE app (side menu > Help > Contact) or on our website (https://leipzig-move.de/kontakt/) to inform us of your request.
What happens when my cell phone is empty - can I continue driving?
As a customer, you are obliged to carry a valid ticket. If you cannot show your ticket at LeipzigMOVE, you will not be able to continue your journey.
I entered my date of birth incorrectly when personalizing my Germany semester ticket. What do I have to do to change it?
You cannot change the date of birth yourself afterwards. Please use the contact form in the LeipzigMOVE app (side menu > Help > Contact) or on our website (https://leipzig-move.de/kontakt/)to let us know your request.

When checking my name data for the personalization of the Germany semester ticket, I noticed an error. What do I need to do?
We take the name data for the personalization from your university. For the ticket inspection, it is important that these name details match the details on your photo ID. Please contact the student administration of your university to have the data changed before you have a Deutschland-Semesterticket issued via LeipzigMOVE.
Why can't I see my Germany semester ticket for the next month in the app?
Your Deutschland-Semesterticket will be converted into a Semesterticket for the new month at the end of the month. This happens automatically until the end of the semester and travel authorization period.
