Explanation

About the accessibility of LeipzigMOVE

§ 1 Status of compliance with the requirements

Both the website and the app are partially accessible. The requirements of the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) and EU Directive 2016/2102 are partially met.

§ 2 Identified barriers (as at: 30.04.2025)

The following barriers were identified as part of an accessibility test in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA:

  • Screen orientation: The app only supports portrait format.
  • Layout problems: Some content is not scrollable or requires two-dimensional scrolling.
  • Text presentation: Text is cut off when enlarged or cannot be scaled.
  • Color contrasts: Texts and graphic elements sometimes have insufficient contrast.
  • Text scaling: Some text views have fixed heights and prevent a scalable display when the font is enlarged.
  • Touch target sizes: Some interactive elements are too small for comfortable operation.
  • Screen reader compatibility: Missing or duplicate accessibility labels for interactive and graphic elements.
  • Inaccessible controls: Some visible UI elements are not accessible via screen reader or voice control.
  • Map view (streetcar connection): Several interactive elements overlap and have no clear labels.
  • Repeating labels: Some objects have identical descriptions, which makes navigation with screen readers more difficult.

We are already working with our technical service provider to remove the identified barriers and are constantly improving both the website and the app.
