LeipzigMOVE is a multimodal mobility app for Leipzig and the MDV area that bundles various transport services under one roof. LeipzigMOVE offers you everything in one app - from simple connection information, public transport ticket purchases, Flexa rides, bike, car and e-scooter sharing offers as well as Bike+Ride and cab bookings. No matter which means of transport you choose, plan, book and pay for your route conveniently with LeipzigMOVE.

The mobility offer currently comprises the services of the following partners:

  • Public transport tickets and information - Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV) incl. Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) GmbH

You can easily enter your personal data, such as name, address, bank details or similar, in the contract in the customer portal at https://abo.l.de change. If you would like to change your email address, please let us know via the contact form https://leipzig-move.de/kontakt with. We'll take care of it for you.

You can register in the LeipzigMOVE app by creating an L-Login with your e-mail address and password. You will then be able to buy tickets for public transport (including Flexa use).

If you would also like to use all other mobility services, simply complete your profile (full registration) and you can also use LeipzigMOVE for bike sharing, scooter sharing and car sharing as well as cab rides through the city or book bike boxes for your own bike at S-Bahn stations.

If you would like to buy your tickets in Leipzig with a discount of 50 %, you can opt for LeipzigMOVE+ when completing your profile. You pay €6.90 per month and receive one-way tickets, short-distance tickets and extra tickets in fare zone 110 Leipzig for half price (according to MDV fare conditions for ABO-Flex).

Please use our form on leipzig-move.de/offers/ and enter your e-mail address and the six-digit customer contract number of your LeipzigMOVE contract. You can find this in the LeipzigMOVE app in the main menu under Profile or on your last invoice. You will then receive a confirmation email from us.

With your ABO Flex contract, you can still obtain your discounted tickets from ticket machines and at our service points and LVB service centers. It is therefore no longer possible for ABO Flex users to purchase discounted tickets in the LeipzigMOVE app.

There is no age limit for using the transport information service. If you want to create a LeipzigMOVE account, you must be at least 18 years old.

No. In order to use our sharing offers in LeipzigMOVE, you need a LeipzigMOVE account. However, if you are already a nextbike, Voi, dott, teilAuto or JETZTmobil customer, this does not affect your use of these services in LeipzigMOVE. To get started, simply create a LeipzigMOVE account, complete your profile and use all the services.

You have the option to pay via PayPal, credit card and Klarna Pay Now (pay immediately - direct debit via Klarna).

No, payment by cell phone bill is no longer supported.

You can deposit multiple payment methods for the purchase of tickets and bookings for bike sharing, scooter sharing, car sharing, bike boxes and cabs.

You can only deposit one means of payment for the basic fee for LeipzigMOVE+.

Yes, you can do this via our support team. Just send us an e-mail: verkehrsbetriebe@l.de.

If a payment cannot be made, you will receive a notification in the app. You can then update your payment details the next time you start the app or make a booking.

Possible reasons:

  • Your credit card is not supported (we accept Visa and Mastercardbut no American Express or certain international cards...
  • For some products, we reserve a certain amount on the means of payment before the journey. Under certain circumstances, this reservation may fail on your means of payment.

  • For products with a fixed price (e.g. public transport tickets), the amount is debited immediately.
  • In the case of variable prices (e.g. ride or sharing offers), an amount is reserved first. The final debit is made directly after the end of the journey - usually within a few seconds
  • Penalties at the Bike sharing are debited immediately after booking and listed separately.
  • Penalties with Scooters are usually billed on the following day - you will also receive a separate invoice for this.

  • After each booking you will immediately receive a Individual invoice by e-mail. If you pay with Paypal, you will also receive a payment confirmation from Paypal.
  • At the beginning of the following month, we will also provide you with a Overview of all bookings

Your payment data is processed exclusively by our external partners:

  • Adyen (technical payment service provider)
  • Klarna or PayPal (depending on what you have selected)

If you lose your cell phone, thanks to registration we can assign your purchased tickets (e.g. weekly or monthly passes) and reissue them. If something doesn't work in your app, for example if you have problems buying tickets, we can also help you better and solve problems more specifically. Registration also allows you to view your past bookings and thus have an overview of them.

No. As the app is linked to a large number of different systems in the background, it can happen that individual systems are temporarily unavailable. In these cases, we will do our best to provide you with the full range of services as quickly as possible. Until then, however, you will have to purchase a valid ticket via our other sales channels.

You can purchase short-distance tickets either directly via the "Buy ticket" button or via the connection information (click on your desired connection -> "Buy ticket"). To ensure that you can only buy a short-distance ticket for those routes that are intended for this purpose, you must always enter the specific start and destination stops of your desired connection.

No, you can only buy one ticket at a time. However, you can complete the purchase process several times in succession to obtain the desired number of tickets. Please note: LeipzigMOVE+ tickets and season tickets are personal and must be personalized with the passenger's name.

Yes, you can. Please click on the name written in orange in the ticket purchase process. You will then be taken to an input screen where you can enter the personalization for the desired person.

No, your tickets are always valid immediately after purchase. The only exceptions to this are our tourist products LeipzigCard and LeipzigRegioCard as well as the Hopperticket on weekdays, which can only be used from 9 am.

You can add your D-Ticket to your MOVE account in LeipzigMOVE and use it as a travel authorization. The D-Ticket will then be displayed at the bottom of the screen and can also be found under "Travelcards & bookings" in the side menu.

To add the D-Ticket to LeipzigMOVE, simply click on "Add D-Ticket" under "Subscriptions & Bookings". If you already have a MOVE or MOVE+ contract and have purchased your Deutschlandticket in the same name, your D-Ticket will automatically be added to your account. If the automatic addition did not work, you can also add the D-Ticket manually. Please have your subscription contract number ready. Flexa offers an ideal link to public transport (streetcar, bus and S-Bahn). Whether for business or pleasure, Flexa travels to numerous transport hubs, from where you can easily travel on to neighboring districts, Leipzig city center or the entire MDV area.

For the first trip, you register once in LeipzigMOVE. After that, all you have to do is enter your desired pick-up point and destination before each journey - Flexa will take you there quickly and conveniently. You can enter any point in Leipzig or in the MDV area as your start or destination - Flexa will organize the optimal combination of Flexa and public transport via one of the transfer stops.

For spontaneous bookings, the Flexa vehicle will arrive at your desired Flexa stop after a short journey or you can reserve your Flexa vehicle for a later desired time up to seven days in advance. You will find out the exact pick-up time at the time of booking.

Flexa is available for you in North, Southeast, West and Southwest.

Monday to Sunday from 4:30 am to 1 am

In the service area, it is possible to travel from Flexa stops to transfer stops or between the individual stops. You can find the position of the Flexa stops on the map. However, you can enter any address when booking - the next stop will be determined automatically and the exact position will be displayed with a description of the location when booking.

You can board and travel with any MDV-ABO or ticket that is valid for local transport in fare zone 110 (Leipzig).

All other tickets are available at the usual points of sale, at ticket machines and in our LeipzigMOVE app.

Please note that short-distance tickets are not valid. Tickets that you can buy using the check-in/check-out procedure in the FAIRTIQ app are not valid for your Flexa journey.

The Flexa vehicles have space for up to six people plus smaller items of luggage (e.g. rucksack or shopping bags). For children, there are two booster seats and a child seat for group 0+/1 (0-4 years, up to 18 kg) in the vehicles.

Transportation of objects and animals

The transportation of objects and animals is possible if they can be safely stowed in the luggage compartment, no additional seats are taken up and the stay at a stop is not extended beyond the usual length. The following can be carried

Please indicate in the app what you need for the journey (e.g. up to two booster seats) or what you would like to take with you (e.g. pushchairs/wheelchairs, wheelchair, child up to three years old). Please note that you can only book the transportation of electric wheelchairs by telephone. Transportation is free of charge. The final decision on the transportation of objects and animals is the responsibility of the driver at the pick-up point. It is expressly not possible to take bicycles, e-scooters, animals outside a suitable container or objects and animals without an accompanying person.

We communicate canceled journeys in LeipzigMOVE via push messages: Please activate the notification or push messages in the "Settings" of your cell phone under "Apps" in "LeipzigMOVE" and allow "Background data usage" under "Mobile data". You can also check the status of your booking under "Subscriptions & bookings"

In the booking process, you can select your departure time or your arrival time when selecting the time. In this case, we recommend that you select "Arrival time" and enter your preferred arrival time. The background system will then plan the route so that you arrive at your destination on time. It also calculates who else can be picked up where along the way (pooling) so that you arrive on time.

When making your booking request, enter your entire route to your final destination within the MDV area. In this case too, the background system will plan the route so that you reach your connections on time.

You can select "Multiple trips" during your booking request and select all the days on which you would like to be picked up at your stop at this time. You can do this up to seven days in advance.

In your booking request under departure time, enter the latest time you would like to be picked up. You will receive a push message about five minutes before the journey telling you exactly when your departure time is. Flexa can pick you up up to a quarter of an hour before your latest departure time.

Yes, up to six people can ride Flexa at the same time. You can increase the number of people up to six during the booking process.

Bikesharing is billed in 15-minute units - every unit or part thereof counts. One unit costs €1. For example, if you cycle for 45 minutes, you pay €3 for your ride with LeipzigMOVE. Service fees may apply if you return the bike in the pink zone (€1 in Leipzig) or outside the business area (min. €20 in Leipzig). Service prices may vary in other cities. Please note: cargo bikes have slightly different conditions. Take a look at these under 6.5 and 6.6.

You can only return the bike within the zones marked on the map (in Leipzig: blue/pink shading) and stations. If you place the bike in a blue zone or station, there are no additional charges and you only pay for the time units used. Returning the bike in the pink zone will cost you an additional €1. You should avoid parking your bike completely outside the zones - unfortunately we have to charge at least €20 extra for this. Service prices may vary in other cities. Please note: cargo bikes have slightly different conditions. Take a look at these under 6.5 and 6.6.

By clicking on "Start rental", the lock on the rear wheel of the bike opens automatically. If this is not the case, shake the bike a little until the lock pops open and/or click on "Open lock" again in the app. When you have reached your destination, lock the bike by pushing the lock lever down in the direction of the arrow until it clicks into place. The beep signals that the bike has been successfully locked. This may take a few seconds - please wait for this so that you can be sure that the return was successful. Check the completion of the ride in the app.

Yes, you can rent up to four Nextbikes at the same time via LeipzigMOVE.

Cargo bikes can only be rented and returned at their home stations. The cargo bike stations are marked with "CARGO" in the app. You will find the name of the home station on the transport box. If a cargo bike is not returned to its home station, we charge a service fee of at least €20.

You can easily switch on the assistance using the on/off switch on the bike computer on the handlebars. You can set the assistance intensity using the +/- controls. At the end of your ride, you can simply switch the board computer off again.

The loading area of the e-cargo bike may be loaded up to a maximum load of 50 kg.

Yes, activate the "Pause journey" button in the app and then close the lock. During the pause, the rental fees will continue to be charged. To continue your journey, simply press "Continue journey" in the app and the lock will open automatically.

As of September 1, 2024, the inclusive units for bike sharing have been removed from the LeipzigMOVE GTC. But don't worry: there has been a transition period since September 2024. During this period, you will continue to receive free rides of 10×15 minutes per month. If a journey takes longer than 15 minutes, you will pay the normal fare for the next unit. Even if your 10 units are used up, you can of course continue to travel - at the regular conditions.

The free units of 10 x 15 minutes per month for bike sharing will be deducted directly after use until further notice. You only pay what is due per rental minus the free quota.

We are currently working on an attractive alternative where we want to reward people for their environmentally conscious mobility behavior. The free travel contingents were a great way to get to know our multimodal offer. Bike+Ride are bicycle parking spaces that offer you the opportunity to park your bicycle safely. Depending on the location of the Bike+Ride facility, one of the following types of facility is available: * Bike garage * Bike box For the desired rental period, you will receive a personal access code with which you can use the bike box or garage.

A bicycle garage has central access for all users. There are individual parking spaces within the facility. The users of the facility have individual access data to open the facility.

Bicycle boxes have several separate individual parking spaces. Each of the individual boxes has its own door and can be opened and closed individually. Each user has individual access data with which they can only open their own bike box.

To book a bicycle parking space, you need a LeipzigMOVE account. You can also find out how to register an account in our [FAQs]. If you already have a LeipzigMOVE account, you can book your bicycle parking space as follows:

  1. Click on Bike+Ride on the start page of the LeipzigMOVE app.
  2. Then select the location where you would like to book a parking space from the list of available bike boxes and garages.
  3. In the next step, you can select the rental period and, if applicable, a parking space within the bike box.
  4. Complete the booking.

You will then receive the access data for your parking space in the LeipzigMOVE app. You can use the QR code to open the bike box or garage.

For how long can I rent a bicycle parking space?
In principle, rental is possible on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. Please note, however, that we have only activated a certain number of pitches at the facilities for short-term bookings.

Booking and payment Book and pay for a parking space for the desired period directly in the LeipzigMOVE app via the map or via the "Bike+Ride" tile. You will immediately receive your personal access data directly in the app.

Open with QR code Hold the QR code in the app to the scanner above the number pad. The door opens. You have to perform an extra step before every 1st opening: Press the # button before scanning the QR code. This also applies after you have extended your parking space in the app.

Open by entering numbers You can also open the system without a QR code. Simply enter the box number and PIN one after the other without using the area code. The following steps must be carried out before each 1st opening. This also applies after you have extended your parking space in the app: Enter # key Enter "valid until date", e.g. 20230815 Enter "box number", e.g. 002 Enter "PIN", e.g. 1234 Enter "checksum", e.g. 54321 You can find your personal access data in the app under the QR code by clicking on "Open parking space without QR code".

During the rental period, you can open and close the door as often as you like using your access data.

The upper boxes are equipped with a rail that can be pulled out and folded down. The bike is placed on this rail and the rail is lifted. The bike is firmly anchored in the rail using a corresponding device.

Please note that parking an e-bike/pedelec in the upper area of the boxes is not possible at every location due to the weight. This depends on the type of facility on site. The exact details can be found in the information texts for the individual locations.

You can extend an active booking at any time. To do this, use the LeipzigMOVE app and call up your current booking. Here you will find the option to extend your booking. Select the desired extension period and complete the booking process.

No, you cannot end your booking early.

No, your bike is not automatically insured. Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) GmbH is not liable for stolen bicycles, objects or other damage. Please always make sure to lock your bike despite the protected parking location.

The door of the bike box does not open automatically. Once your booking has expired, the parking space is released again and can be booked by other users. If the bike is still in the bike box at this time, it can be found by the next tenant.

As long as no other user has booked, the door to your parking space can be opened again after the rental period has expired.

If your bike blocks the parking space, we reserve the right to clear the space and charge you for the costs. Therefore, always collect your bike in good time or extend your booking.

In rare cases, a bike box or bike garage may not open due to vandalism or technical faults. In this case, please contact our customer service team directly and describe your problem. Our customer service is available on the following telephone number 0341/492-1000 to reach us. We will then find a solution together with you.

If you have caused an emergency opening through your own fault, you will be liable for the fees incurred in accordance with our General Terms and Conditions (GTC).

This may occur if the previous user of the parking space does not collect their bike before their booking expires. If your booked parking space is occupied, please contact our customer service directly. If another parking space is available at the desired location, you can book this via the LeipzigMOVE app. The rental fee for the first booking will be refunded. You can reach our customer support on the telephone number 0341/492-1000.

You may not have validated your driver's license yet. Go to "How do I validate my driver's license?".

If you have already completed the validation, there may be other reasons for this. We ask you to use the Contact form to get in touch with us.

Currently, LeipzigMOVE only offers station-based car sharing vehicles. This means that you must always return the vehicle to the station where you started your journey. Your booking is only complete when you have parked the vehicle at the relevant station.

When your car sharing booking starts, you will find the "Open" button in your active booking. Press it, enter your PIN (you can change it at any time in your profile) and the vehicle's central locking will open. If this doesn't happen immediately, just try again - sometimes it can take a few moments.

You will find the key in the glove compartment. During the booking, use the key to lock the car. At the end of the booking, insert the chip on the key back into the socket in the glove compartment. Close all doors and click on the "Close" button in your booking or hold any NFC-enabled card (e.g. a credit card) to the reading field in the windshield.

If you need to refuel on the road or your tank level drops below 25 %, follow these steps:

Search for a DKV filling station.
Fill up with the right fuel. (see key fob or fuel cap, costs for premium fuel and intermediate charging of electric vehicles are not covered)
Remove the DKV card from the glove compartment.
Enter the mileage and PIN when paying. You can find the fuel PIN in your current booking under "More -> Refuel".
If the DKV card is not accepted at the filling station or is defective, we ask you to display the costs. Then please send the fuel receipt to us (Service-Center der Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) GmbH, Markgrafenstraße 2, 04109 Leipzig) with the note "LeipzigMOVE Carsharing Tankquittung", your name and your customer contract number. We will reimburse you with the invoice for the journey.

Electric vehicles must always be reconnected to the charging station for charging at the end of the journey and the charging process must be started with the charging chip card.

Remember to pack the charging cable when you start your journey. It belongs to the vehicle. If the charging cable is missing at the start of your journey, report it as damage to the support hotline before you set off (0341/4921000). The vehicle must always be connected to the charging station at the end of the journey and the charging process must be started with the charging chip card.

Yes, you can. However, you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the rental period. If you cancel at short notice, we will unfortunately have to charge you half of the hourly rate for the canceled booking period (see point 14).

Stay calm, look after yourself and everyone involved and secure the scene of the accident.

In the event of any kind of damage, e.g. an accident with wild animals or a road bollard, or in the event of theft, please report it immediately to the police and to our support hotline (0341/4921000 à car sharing), even if no one else is involved. Please inform us truthfully and in detail about the damage event. Then document the damage to the vehicle with photos.

You can report any damage caused by you or during your rental by calling the support hotline (0341/4921000 car sharing). In this case, please also call the police. A written report is also required within three days. You can also send photos of the vehicle damage here.

Any existing damage that you notice before the start of your journey and that is not yet listed in the damage list in the app must also be reported immediately and before the start of the journey by calling our support hotline (0341/4921000) must be reported. This also includes heavy soiling or missing utensils. Please never use the vehicle if the safety appears to be impaired by the damage found.

According to the overview of fees in the LeipzigMOVE appendix, self-support is €1,500.

Late return of the vehicle will be penalized with a fine of up to €50. Extend the booking before the end of the booking period via the app or the hotline (0341/4921000) as soon as you realize that you will need the vehicle for longer. If the vehicle has already been booked by another user after you, it is unfortunately not possible to extend the booking in the app. Please call the hotline anyway so that a solution can be found with the next customer. This will also reduce the penalty payment.

You can shorten your booking via the app if you are back at the station much earlier than planned. You will then only be charged half of the time price for the originally booked period.

No, the use of a vehicle by another person is not possible. Making your account or a vehicle freely available to friends or family members is therefore not permitted and will result in the termination of your contract.

After you have entered your driving license details when completing your profile or subsequently in your profile, you must have your driving license checked before making your first booking. The LVB team is available for this purpose at the following service centers:

You don't need to have cash or a debit card with you, as you can pay for your journey conveniently via your LeipzigMOVE account using the payment method you have selected.   • To get going, stand on the e-scooter with one foot and push off with the other.
  • Press the accelerator lever on the handlebars down with your right hand to pick up speed.
  • Release the lever or carefully apply the handbrake on the left or right to slow down the e-scooter.

  • Put the e-scooter back on the stand when you have finished your ride.

No, you do not need to complete your profile in LeipzigMOVE. To access the Deutschland-Semesterticket, all you need is an L-Login consisting of an e-mail address and password.

Completing your profile is optional and subject to a SCHUFA report. With a completed profile, you also have the option of using offers such as bike sharing, e-scooters, car sharing, cabs or Bike+Ride.

Your Deutschland-Semesterticket will be converted into a Semesterticket for the new month at the end of the month. This happens automatically until the end of the semester and travel authorization period.

Your name data stored at the university is incomplete.

In order to issue a Deutschland-Semesterticket, we need the first and last name provided by your university. If this data is incomplete, you will receive an error message. Please contact the student administration of your university and have your data completed.

The travel authorization period is not transmitted by your university

It may happen that we do not receive a travel authorization period from your university. This can have various causes and prevent your Deutschland-Semesterticket from being issued - e.g. if you have not re-registered for the semester or have not paid the semester fee in full.

Please contact the student administration of your university to have the case checked and to obtain a travel authorization.

Driving license already issued.

The Deutschland-Semesterticket can only be linked to a LeipzigMOVE account. It is no longer possible to link the ticket to another account once the ticket has been created.

If your ticket has already been issued by another person unknown to you, please use the contact form in the LeipzigMOVE app (side menu > Help > Contact) or on our website (https://leipzig-move.de/kontakt/) to inform us of your request.

What happens when my cell phone is empty - can I continue driving?

As a customer, you are obliged to carry a valid ticket. If you cannot show your ticket at LeipzigMOVE, you will not be able to continue your journey.
