LeipzigMOVE is the mobility app from Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe for Leipzig and the MDV region, which bundles various mobility services under one roof. LeipzigMOVE offers you everything in one app – from simple route information, public transport ticket purchases, check-in/check-out, display of your Deutschlandticket, bike and e-scooter sharing, booking of bike garages, Flexa or taxi booking, to the use of the BonusMOVE loyalty program. No matter which service you choose, plan, book, and pay for your route conveniently with LeipzigMOVE.

Yes, LeipzigMOVE is a multimodal mobility platform. You can flexibly combine different modes of transport, such as tram + e-scooter or Flexa + bikesharing.
The app shows you suitable connections, including transfers and alternative mobility options. This way you can conveniently plan, book, and pay for your entire route in a single app.
No, LeipzigMOVE doesn't just work in Leipzig, but throughout the entire area of the Central German Transport Association (MDV).
This includes, but is not limited to, connections and offers in:
- Leipzig (Zone 110)
- Halle (Saale)
- Leipzig District
- Nordsachsen
- Altenburger Land
- further regions within the MDV area
However, available sharing offers may vary by region. You can plan and book public transport connections within the MDV area at any time via LeipzigMOVE.
Registration
You can register in the LeipzigMOVE app by creating an L-Login with your e-mail address and password. You will then be able to buy tickets for public transport (including Flexa use).
If you also want to use all other mobility offers, simply complete your profile (full registration) by entering your name and address, and you can then use LeipzigMOVE to access bike sharing, e-scooter sharing, and taxi rides around the city, or book bike boxes for your own bicycle at suburban train stations.
You can easily enter your personal data, such as name, address, bank details, or the like, in the contract in the Customer portal change. If you wish to change your email address, please log in to the Customer support. We'll take care of that for you.
There is no age limit for using the transport information service. If you want to create a LeipzigMOVE account, you must be at least 18 years old.
No. To use the sharing offers via LeipzigMOVE, you need a LeipzigMOVE account. However, if you are already a customer of providers like nextbike, Voi, or dott, this does not affect your use of these offers within LeipzigMOVE. To get started, simply create a LeipzigMOVE account, complete your profile, and use all services.
Yes, you can also use LeipzigMOVE without a subscription. With a simple L-Login, you can:
- Search for connections
- Get schedules
- Buy public transport tickets
- Book a flexa
If you wish to utilize additional services such as bike sharing, e-scooter sharing, check-in/check-out, taxis, or bike+ride, you must complete your profile and sign a LeipzigMOVE contract. The LeipzigMOVE contract is free of charge and is not a subscription.
An additional, paid subscription like LeipzigMOVE+ or a Deutschlandticket is not mandatory for this.
Payment
You have the option to pay with the following payment methods in LeipzigMOVE:

No, payment by cell phone bill is no longer supported.
You can deposit multiple payment methods for purchasing tickets and booking bike sharing, e-scooter sharing, bike boxes, and taxis.
You can only deposit one means of payment for the basic fee for LeipzigMOVE+.
If a payment cannot be processed, you will receive a notification in the app. You can then update your payment details the next time you log in or make a booking.
Possible reasons:
- Your credit card is not supported (we accept Visa and Mastercardbut no American Express or specific international cards)
- For some products, we reserve a certain amount on the means of payment before the journey. Under certain circumstances, this reservation may fail on your means of payment.
- For fixed-price products (e.g. public transport tickets), the amount is debited immediately.
- For variable prices (e.g., ride or sharing offers), an amount is reserved first. The final charge is made directly after the ride ends – usually within a few seconds.
- Penalties at the Bike sharing will be debited immediately after booking and listed separately.
- Penalties with E-scooters are usually billed on the following day – you'll receive a separate invoice for this as well.

LeipzigMOVE+
LeipzigMOVE is the mobility platform of Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB). With it, you can plan connections, buy tickets, use sharing offers, and combine different means of transport. It is possible to conclude a LeipzigMOVE contract free of charge.
LeipzigMOVE+ is LeipzigMOVE's paid membership plan. For €7.30 per month, you get up to a 50% discount on public transportation tickets and additional benefits through the BonusMOVE rewards program.
If you’d like to buy your tickets in Leipzig with a discount of up to 50%, you can sign up for LeipzigMOVE+ when you complete your profile. For €7.30 per month, you’ll receive single-ride tickets, short-distance tickets, and extra tickets in Leipzig’s fare zone 110 at half price, as well as discounted fares throughout the entire MDV area (in accordance with MDV fare regulations for ABOFlex).
LeipzigMOVE+ is particularly worthwhile for regular users in Leipzig, commuters without a classic subscription, and occasional drivers with multiple trips per week. LeipzigMOVE+ becomes worthwhile for you starting from the 5th single trip per month.
Your LeipzigMOVE+ order in our LeipzigMOVE app during the registration process. If you have already registered in LeipzigMOVE, you can LeipzigMOVE+ also about the Form with yours LeipzigMOVE-Enter your contract number. You can find it in the LeipzigMOVE app under "Profile" in the main menu, or on your most recent bill.
Use ours Form and enter your e-mail address and the six-digit customer contract number of your LeipzigMOVE contract. You can find this in the LeipzigMOVE app in the main menu under Profile or on your last invoice. You will then receive a confirmation email from us.
With LeipzigMOVE+, you can conveniently purchase your discounted single tickets, short-trip tickets, and extra tickets in our LeipzigMOVE app. The reduced price will be automatically displayed to you.
With LeipzigMOVE+ buy your discounted public transport tickets directly in our app LeipzigMOVE. Also your sharing offers as well as Flexa you book directly in the app.
Payment of the base fee is monthly, and payment for tickets and sharing offers is in real-time. Various payment options are available for this:

Your with LeipzigMOVE+ Purchased reduced single tickets, short-distance tickets, and extra tickets are non-transferable to other persons. Therefore, please always have your smartphone and an official photo ID ready.
With our ABO Flex, you can also buy reduced tickets without a smartphone:
When ordering ABO Flex, you will receive your chip card. With this card, you can purchase your single tickets, short-distance tickets, and extra tickets at the ticket machines in the vehicles or at the stops, as well as at our service centers.
Important: The chip card does not include independent travel authorization, but rather authorization to purchase reduced single tickets. The chip card is valid only in conjunction with a valid ticket.
With your ABO Flex contract, you can still obtain your discounted tickets from ticket machines and at our service points and LVB service centers. It is therefore no longer possible for ABO Flex users to purchase discounted tickets in the LeipzigMOVE app.
Mobility budget
The mobility budget is a monthly allowance from your employer that you can flexibly use for your everyday journeys. You can use this budget directly in the LeipzigMOVE app for various means of transport.
The mobility budget in LeipzigMOVE applies to the following offers:
- Public Transport (Bus, Tram, Suburban Train, Flexa)
- E-scooter sharing
- Bike sharing
- Cab
- Bicycle boxes and garages
ImportantABOs like LeipzigMOVE+ cannot be paid for with the mobility budget. However, you can sign up for a private LeipzigMOVE+ contract and use the mobility budget to pay for the discounted tickets in the app. The monthly base fee for LeipzigMOVE+ will be charged to your private payment method.
Your employer must provide the offer. Simply approach your company about it.
- Log in to LeipzigMOVE or register with your private email address.
- Activate your mobility budget in the side menu under „Mobility Budget.“.
- There, you'll enter your company email address to unlock your mobility budget.
- Confirm the email with the verification link in your company email address.
- Deposit your private payment method in the app for additional costs, e.g., for incorrectly parked Nextbikes and e-scooters or if your budget is used up
Usage is via your budget. Your private payment method will only be used for additional costs, for example, if your budget is used up or if there are additional fees for incorrectly parked Nextbikes or e-scooters. In the side menu, you'll find an overview of how much budget you have left for the specified period.
The mobility budget can be considered a benefit in kind. It is processed through your employer.
No. Everything runs through the LeipzigMOVE app.
Yes, you will earn points in the BonusMOVE bonus program for your bookings, even if payment is made through the mobility budget. Please register for BonusMOVE in the app first. From now on, you will collect points and rewards with every use of a means of transport in LeipzigMOVE. You can redeem these for coupons with partners all over the city. You can find more information about BonusMOVE at leipzig-move.de/bonusmove.
BonusMOVE
Yes. Discounted Deutschlandticket variants also qualify you for Gold status in BonusMOVE, provided you register them in LeipzigMOVE and purchased them from LVB.
BonusMOVE is LVB’s rewards program. Here, you’re rewarded for eco-friendly travel. You earn points for every transaction made in the LeipzigMOVE app. Once you reach 100 points, you’ll receive a reward. With your rewards, you can unlock attractive coupons that you can redeem at numerous partners in and around Leipzig. Whether online or in-store, 2-for-1 offers or discounts, mobility, leisure, or culture coupons—there is a wide variety of coupons available.
You register for BonusMOVE by clicking on the Conditions of participation and Data protection information to BonusMOVE. You can do this either during registration for LeipzigMOVE/LeipzigMOVE+ or by clicking on the BonusMOVE tile on the start page.
With BonusMOVE, you can earn points with every booking – whether by bus, tram, Flexa, nextbike, e-scooter, or taxi. You can also collect points with all other MOVES in LeipzigMOVE, such as booking bicycle garages or boxes, or using the check-in/check-out function.
The points collected are linked to turnover. The following points are awarded per full euro spent:

As a holder of a Deutschlandticket (also known as a semester ticket, Leipzig Pass, JOB ticket), you collect 250 points every month if your D-Ticket is stored in LeipzigMOVE.
As soon as you have collected 100 points, these are automatically converted into a bonus.
Your accumulated rewards are displayed in various places within the app:
- in the profile
- on the BonusMOVE homepage
- on the premium overview
- on the coupon overview top right
On the BonusMOVE homepage and the rewards overview, you can also see how many points you still need for the next reward.
You can see how many points you have collected in total in the profile view.
You can see your point history under „Your MOVES“ on the BonusMOVE homepage or in the „Subscriptions & Bookings“ menu under „Past Bookings.“ Please note: Your points are credited to your account immediately, but will only be visible once the usage period has ended, e.g., for a single ticket after one hour.
You can unlock the coupons with the rewards you have collected. The number of rewards required may vary depending on the coupon. The coupon will show you how many of your rewards you need to activate the coupon. Once the coupon has been activated, the number of rewards required will be deducted from your rewards account. Please note that there are also coupons in Gold status for which you do not need to redeem any rewards. You can recognize this by the 0 in the rewards flower.
The coupons can be redeemed for mobility services in the app, e.g. for a free Nextbike unit (15 minutes) or for the entry fee for an e-scooter.
In addition, the coupons can be used with a variety of regional or sustainable partners in and around Leipzig. You can find an up-to-date overview of all participating partners in the app under the coupon overview or at www.leipzig-move.de/bonusmove#partner.
After activating a partner coupon, it is an hour valid and must be redeemed within this time. After that, the coupon will expire. Please note this before activating a coupon. There are 3 options for redemption:
- Show the QR code in the store,
- Copy the promotional code and enter it in the online store
- or redemption screen in the store and have it redeemed by the checkout staff by swiping to the right.
The mobility coupons are automatically redeemed the next time they are used after the coupon has been activated. Activated coupons can always be redeemed until the end of the month and then expire if not redeemed.
Only one partner coupon can be activated at a time. You can only activate a new partner coupon once you have redeemed this one. Redeeming a mobility coupon at the same time as a partner coupon is not a problem.
Navigate to „Your coupons“ on the BonusMOVE homepage. There you will find an overview of the coupons you have already redeemed.
Possible reasons:
- You haven't agreed to the BonusMOVE terms and conditions yet
- You have not collected enough rewards (You can find your current reward count in the coupon overview in the top right corner. The number of rewards needed for the coupon is indicated on the respective coupon.)
You haven't reached the required status yet (Some coupons are only available to Silver members, and some are only available to Gold members.)
LVB accepts no liability for the products purchased with the coupon. If you have any problems with a product, please contact the partner from whom you purchased the product.
If you regularly collect BonusMOVE points, you can move up from Bronze to Silver and then to Gold.
- You reach bronze with 1 point
- Silver is available from 1,000 points or with LeipzigMOVE+.
- You get gold starting at 2,500 points or with a Germany ticket from the LVB.
Please note: The status upgrade will occur on the day after you sign up for BonusMOVE, add your ticket, or renew your contract.
To maintain the status you have achieved, you must collect a certain number of points per year. This is 1,000 points for Silver status and 2,500 points for Gold. If the number of points is not reached in one year, you will revert to the previous status (except LeipzigMOVE+ and D-Ticket customers).

The Nextbike free units are available from the 1st of the following month. For example, if you upgrade to Silver status in November or sign a LeipzigMOVE+ contract, the 5 free units will be available to you every month from December 1.
The current status is displayed in the profile, on the BonusMOVE homepage and on the status overview. The status overview also shows you how many points you need to reach the next status. As you collect more points, you will also rise in status.
If you cancel your LeipzigMOVE+ contract or your Deutschlandticket subscription, the points you have collected will be used for the status logic. Depending on this, you may be relegated to a lower status from the following month.
If you previously had a D-ticket, you will no longer receive monthly points.
However, you are still registered with BonusMOVE and can continue to collect points for all bookings in LeipzigMOVE and move up in status.
If you are no longer active within 365 consecutive days, i.e. you have not collected any more points, the points collected, rewards and status achieved will expire.
Too bad you want to leave BonusMOVE. You can unsubscribe from BonusMOVE via the side menu in your profile. All points, rewards, status and activated coupons will be deleted. The L-Login or the LeipzigMOVE and LeipzigMOVE+ account will not be deleted.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
An L-Login is required for the secure management of your tickets. You have several benefits when you register:
- If you lose your phone, we can use your registration information to identify the tickets you’ve purchased (such as weekly or monthly passes) and reissue them.
- If something isn't working in your app, for example, if you're having trouble buying tickets, we can help you better and solve problems more effectively.
- Registration also allows you to view your past bookings, giving you an overview of them.
In the LeipzigMOVE app, you can purchase various digital tickets for the entire Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV) network, including:
- One-way tickets
- Short-distance tickets

No. As the app is linked to various different systems in the background, it may happen that individual systems are temporarily unavailable. In these cases, we do our best to provide you with the full range of services as quickly as possible. Until then, however, you must resort to purchasing a valid ticket through our other sales channels, such as ticket machines, service centers, or retail outlets.
You can purchase short-distance tickets either directly via the "Buy ticket" button or via the connection information (click on your desired connection -> "Buy ticket"). To ensure that you can only buy a short-distance ticket for those routes that are intended for this purpose, you must always enter the specific start and destination stops of your desired connection.
No, you can only purchase one ticket at a time. However, you can repeat the purchase process multiple times in a row to get the desired number of tickets. Please note: LeipzigMOVE+ tickets and period tickets (weekly and monthly passes) are tied to the individual and must be personalized with the passenger's name.
Yes, you can. Please click on the name written in orange in the ticket purchase process. You will then be taken to an input screen where you can enter the personalization for the desired person.
No, your tickets are always valid immediately upon purchase. The only exceptions are our tourist products, the Leipzig Card and the Leipzig Regio Card, which you can purchase up to 90 days in advance, as well as the MDV Hopperticket on weekdays, which can only be used starting at 9 a.m.
No, purchased and valid public transport tickets generally cannot be canceled or refunded. Exceptions can only be considered in special cases. Please contact the Customer support.
Flexa
Flexa is an on-demand shuttle service in Leipzig that offers an ideal connection to public transport (trams, buses, and suburban trains). Whether for private or business purposes, Flexa shuttles go to numerous transport hubs, from which onward travel to neighboring districts, the Leipzig city center, or throughout the entire MDV region is easily possible.
On your first ride, you'll register with LeipzigMOVE. After that, before each ride, simply enter your desired pickup and drop-off locations – the Flexa shuttles will get you there quickly and comfortably. You can specify any point in Leipzig or the MDV region as your start or destination – Flexa will organize the optimal combination of a Flexa shuttle and public transport for you via one of the transfer stops.
With spontaneous bookings, the Flexa Shuttle will arrive at your desired Flexa stop after a short journey, or you can reserve your Flexa Shuttle for a later preferred time up to seven days in advance. The exact pickup time will be confirmed upon booking.
Flexa is available for you in the North, Southeast, West, and Southwest regions.
Monday to Sunday from 4:30 am to 1 am
In the service area, it is possible to travel from Flexa stops to transfer stops or between the individual stops. You can find the position of the Flexa stops on the map. However, you can enter any address when booking - the next stop will be determined automatically and the exact position will be displayed with a description of the location when booking.
You can board and travel with any MDV-ABO or ticket that is valid for local transport in fare zone 110 (Leipzig).
You can get all other tickets directly in our LeipzigMOVE app, at known sales points, and at ticket machines.
Please note that short-distance tickets are not valid. Tickets purchased via the check-in/check-out procedure in the LeipzigMOVE or FAIRTIQ apps are not valid for your Flexa journey.
The Flexa vehicles have space for up to six people plus smaller items of luggage (e.g. rucksack or shopping bags). For children, there are two booster seats and a child seat for group 0+/1 (0-4 years, up to 18 kg) in the vehicles.
Transportation of objects and animals
The transportation of objects and animals is possible if they can be safely stowed in the luggage compartment, no additional seats are taken up and the stay at a stop is not extended beyond the usual length. The following can be carried

Small animals in a suitable transport box.
Please indicate in the app what you need for the journey (e.g. up to two booster seats) or what you would like to take with you (e.g. pushchairs/wheelchairs, wheelchair, child up to three years old). Please note that you can only book the transportation of electric wheelchairs by telephone. Transportation is free of charge. The final decision on the transportation of objects and animals is the responsibility of the driver at the pick-up point. It is expressly not possible to take bicycles, e-scooters, animals outside a suitable container or objects and animals without an accompanying person.
We communicate canceled trips in LeipzigMOVE via push notifications: Please activate notifications or push messages in your phone's „Settings“ under „Apps“ in the „LeipzigMOVE“ app, and allow „Background data usage“ under „Mobile data.“ Additionally, you can check the status of your booking under „Subscriptions & Bookings.“.
In the booking process, you can select your departure time or your arrival time when selecting the time. In this case, we recommend that you select "Arrival time" and enter your preferred arrival time. The background system will then plan the route so that you arrive at your destination on time. It also calculates who else can be picked up where along the way (pooling) so that you arrive on time.
When making your booking request, enter your entire route to your final destination within the MDV area. In this case too, the background system will plan the route so that you reach your connections on time.
You can select "Multiple trips" during your booking request and select all the days on which you would like to be picked up at your stop at this time. You can do this up to seven days in advance.
In your booking request, under departure time, you specify the latest time you wish to be picked up. You will receive a push notification approximately five minutes before your ride with your exact departure time. The Flexa shuttle can pick you up up to 15 minutes before your latest desired departure time.
Yes, up to six people can ride in the Flexa-Shuttle at the same time. You can increase the number of people up to six during the booking process.
Check-in/Check-out
The check-in/check-out function is a digital ticketing system that allows you to use buses and trains without purchasing a ticket in advance.
This is how it works:
- check in before the trip
- check out after the ride (or allow to check out automatically)
- The best price will be calculated automatically
Your advantage: You don't have to worry about fare zones or ticket types.
The check-in/check-out function is suitable for everyone, especially if:
- you don't yet know how often you will be using buses and trains in a day. Your journeys are automatically calculated at the best price within 24 hours. This means you only pay for what you have actually used.
- you are not familiar with the fare zone. The price is calculated after your journey (after 24 hours at the latest) and does not require any fare knowledge.
Everyone who has a LeipzigMOVE account with a fully registered profile can use the check-in/check-out function to purchase tickets in LeipzigMOVE. You can find instructions on how to register in our FAQs under the question „How do I register?“
The check-in/check-out function is available on almost all lines of public transport companies based in the Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV). Journeys on on-demand services such as Flexa in Leipzig, as well as on flexible service formats that operate without a timetable (e.g., Rufbus Flex), are currently still excluded.
Special feature in MDV Nord (Wittenberg, Anhalt-Bitterfeld, Dessau-Roßlau): The check-in/check-out function can only be used on local transport trains. However, buses and trams are excluded. The transport conditions and tariff regulations of MDV apply. More about the MDV area can be found at www.L.de/public-transportation/tariff-regulations-and-conditions-of-carriage.
The following tickets can be easily charged to you via check-in/check-out:
- Single ticket adult (also for LeipzigMOVE+)
- Short-distance single ticket for adults (also for LeipzigMOVE+)
- One-way ticket child
- 24-hour ticket for one adult (valid in all MDV fare zones except 110 Leipzig)
- 24-hour ticket for one child (valid in all MDV fare zones except 110 Leipzig)
- 24-hour ticket Plus for 1 adult (valid in fare zone 110 Leipzig)
Note: It is currently not yet possible to take children, dogs and bulky luggage with a ticket using the check-in/check-out function. Please buy an extra ticket or a children's ticket using the "Buy ticket" function in the LeipzigMOVE app or at the ticket machine. It is possible to purchase an additional ticket via "Buy ticket" at the same time as using the check-in/check-out function.
No, you do not need to check out when changing trains. Stay checked in, wait for your connection, and continue your journey relaxed. If you have a particularly long wait for your connection, for example, due to a delay, please make sure that you are still checked in and that an automatic check-out has not occurred.
If you forget to check out, you don't have to worry. Our system automatically recognizes when you are no longer travelling a route by train or bus or when there is no longer a stop near you and then automatically checks you out. Check-in/check-out only charges you for routes that you have actually traveled by bus or train.
The maximum price in a 24-hour period corresponds to the price of a 24-hour ticket for one person (adult or child) according to the number of fare zones traveled. This automatically calculates the most affordable price for you.
It should be noted that in tariff zone 110 (city of Leipzig), a 24-hour ticket is not available for a child. Therefore, price optimization is not possible.
No, it is currently not possible to take children, bicycles, dogs or bulky luggage on board. Please buy an extra ticket or a children's ticket using the "Buy ticket" function in the LeipzigMOVE app or at the ticket machine.
Your upgrade to LeipzigMOVE+ will naturally be taken into account when using the check-in/check-out function. The discount will be deducted when calculating your best price. Other discount cards, such as a BahnCard, are excluded from the function. You can find more information about LeipzigMOVE+ at Offers.
You have the option to pay via PayPal, credit card (Visa and Mastercard), Klarna Pay Now (instant payment - direct debit via Klarna), Google Pay, and Apple Pay.
So that we can correctly record your journey, we need to know your location and determine from your movement data whether you are traveling on foot or by train/bus. Only if the app has access to this data can a valid ticket be issued to you. We assure you that your data will only be used for the purpose of journey detection and price calculation. You can find all information on data protection at www.L.de/datenschutz/verkehrsbetriebe/leipzigmove-app/.
Bike sharing
Bikesharing is billed in 15-minute units - every unit or part thereof counts. One unit costs €1. For example, if you cycle for 45 minutes, you pay €3 for your ride with LeipzigMOVE. Service fees may apply if you return the bike in the pink zone (€1 in Leipzig) or outside the business area (min. €20 in Leipzig). Service prices may vary in other cities.
You can only return the bike in Leipzig within the zones marked on the map (under “Filter” select the “Bikesharing-Nextbike” business area):
- Blue Zone: free
- Mobility stations: free
- Pink Zone: +1€
- Outside the zones: min. 20€ penalty fee

By clicking „Start Rental,“ the lock on the rear wheel of the bike will automatically open. If this does not happen, wiggle the wheel a bit until the lock pops open and/or click „Unlock“ in the app again. When you have reached your destination, lock the bike by pressing the lever of the lock downwards in the direction of the arrow until it clicks into place. The beep signals that the bike has been successfully locked. This may take a few seconds – please wait for it to ensure the return was successful. Check the end of the ride in the app. If the bike does not open or lock by itself, you can create a support ticket using the „Help Button“ in the app. Our customer service will then take care of your request.
Yes, you can rent up to four Nextbikes at the same time via LeipzigMOVE.
You have the chance to secure your monthly free rides through BonusMOVE – the LVB bonus program. Simply sign up for BonusMOVE in the app and start collecting your first points. With your status or a coupon, you'll receive your next Nextbike free ride.
Important: The status free units are only unlocked on the 1st of the following month. For example, if you upgrade to Bronze status in October, you will have one free unit per month from November 1st.

Bike&Ride
Bike+Ride are bicycle parking spaces that offer you the opportunity to park your bicycle safely. Depending on the location of the Bike+Ride facility, one of the following types of facility is available:
- Bicycle garage
- Bicycle box
You will receive a personal access code for the desired rental period, with which you can use the bike box or garage.
One Bicycle garage It has a central access point for all users. Within the facility there are individual parking spaces. The users of the facility have individual access credentials to open the facility.
Bike boxes possess multiple separate individual parking spaces. Each of the individual boxes has its own door and can be opened and closed individually. Each user has individual access credentials with which they can open only their bicycle box.
To book a bike parking spot, you need a LeipzigMOVE account. You can find out how to register an account in our FAQs under the question „How do I register?. If you already have a LeipzigMOVE account, you can book your bike parking space as follows:
- On the LeipzigMOVE app's home screen, click the Bike+Ride tile.
- Then select the location where you would like to book a parking space from the list of available bike boxes and garages.
- In the next step, you can select the rental period and, if applicable, a parking space within the bike box.
Complete the booking.
You will then receive the access details for your parking space in LeipzigMOVE. You can open the bicycle box or garage with the QR code.
In principle, rental is possible on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. Please note, however, that we have only activated a certain number of pitches at the facilities for short-term bookings.

Booking and Payment Book and pay for a parking space for the desired period directly in the LeipzigMOVE app via the map or via the "Bike+Ride" tile. You will immediately receive your personal access data directly in the app.
Open with QR code Hold the QR code in the app up to the scanner above the number pad. The door will open. Before the first time you open it, you’ll need to take an extra step: Press the # button before scanning the QR code. This also applies after you’ve extended your parking spot in the app.
Open by numeric input You can also open the facility without a QR code. To do this, simply enter the box number and the PIN one after the other without the area code. The following steps must be performed before each first opening. This also applies after you have extended your parking space in the app:
- Press the # button
- Expiration Date, e.g. 20230815
- Input „Box Number“, e.g. 002
- PIN, e.g., 1234
- Checksum, e.g. 54321
You can find your personal login details in the app under the QR code by clicking „Open parking space without QR code.“.
During the rental period, you can open and close the door as often as you like with your access credentials.
The upper boxes are equipped with a rail that can be pulled out and folded down. The bike is placed on this rail and the rail is lifted. The bike is firmly anchored in the rail using a corresponding device.
Please note that parking an e-bike/pedelec in the upper area of the boxes is not possible at every location due to the weight. This depends on the type of facility on site. The exact details can be found in the information texts for the individual locations.
You can extend an active booking at any time. To do this, use the LeipzigMOVE app and call up your current booking. Here you will find the option to extend your booking. Select the desired extension period and complete the booking process.
No, you cannot end your booking early.
No, your bike is not automatically insured. Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) GmbH is not liable for stolen bicycles, objects or other damage. Please always make sure to lock your bike despite the protected parking location.
The door of the bike box does not open automatically. Once your booking has expired, the parking space is released again and can be booked by other users. If the bike is still in the bike box at this time, it can be found by the next tenant.
As long as no other user has booked, the door to your parking space can be opened again after the rental period has expired.
If your bicycle is blocking a parking space, we reserve the right to clear the space and charge you for the costs incurred. Therefore, please always pick up your bicycle on time or extend your booking.
In rare cases, a bike box or bike garage may not open due to vandalism or technical malfunctions. In this case, please contact our customer service directly and explain your issue. If you caused an emergency opening through your own fault, according to our General Terms and Conditions (GTC) the resulting fees.
This case can occur if the previous user of the parking space does not pick up their bicycle before their booking expires. If your booked parking space is occupied, please contact our customer service directly. If another parking space is available at your desired location, you can book it via the LeipzigMOVE app. The rental fee for the first booking will be refunded. Cab
With LeipzigMOVE you can Book, track, and pay for taxis directly – everything digital and without additional effort.
Your advantages:

You pay for your ride cashless and conveniently with your LeipzigMOVE account using your chosen payment method. After the ride is completed, the taxi driver will present you with a receipt for the amount due. Sign it to confirm the fare. Exactly this amount will also appear on your LeipzigMOVE invoice later.
Yes, you can cancel your journey free of charge before it starts. Simply click on "Cancel" in your app booking.
The taxi may take a little longer to reach you for various reasons, such as high demand or increased traffic.

- Cancel booking: As long as you haven't started your trip yet, there are no costs for you.
For requests that are not covered by the "Options" function, you must contact the cab company 4884 by telephone on 0341/4884 register. In that case, your booking will not be processed and billed through LeipzigMOVE, but directly through the taxi company.

E-scooter
With LeipzigMOVE you can Find, unlock, and pay for e-scooters quickly.

The unlock fee for e-scooters is €1 per ride. Once you start your rental, you will pay an additional €0.22 for every minute or part thereof. This applies to the e-scooters of both partners (Voi and dott).
All rides with Leipzig e-scooters must be ended at a designated e-scooter parking area. These mobility stations are shown on the map in the LeipzigMOVE app. They are marked with a purple e-scooter icon.
Please note that parking e-scooters outside the stations is not permitted and will be penalized with a €25 fine. In addition, the journey cannot be completed, so the price per minute will continue to apply.
For riding e-scooters in Leipzig, you do not need a driver's license. However, you must be at least 18 years old to rent an e-scooter through LeipzigMOVE. Please also ensure you are fit to ride.
Here's how it works:
- Scan the QR code on the handlebars or manually enter the multi-digit code in the app
- Tap „Start Rental“
- The e-scooter is ready to go.
ImportantFor a safe ride, ensure your chosen e-scooter is fully functional.
If the e-scooter is damaged, please report the damage to the LeipzigMOVE Hotline under E-Scooter. (+49 341 492 1000). Customer support will let you know whether the e-scooter is still roadworthy.
- To end the ride, properly park the e-scooter on a designated parking spot.,
- Tap „End“ in the bottom right corner of your active booking, then tap „End ride“.

- To get going, stand on the e-scooter with one foot and push off with the other.
- Press the accelerator lever on the handlebars down with your right hand to pick up speed.
- Release the lever or carefully apply the handbrake on the left or right to slow down the e-scooter.
- Use the indicators on the right and left to show other road users where you are going.
- Put the e-scooter back on the stand when you have finished your ride.
Please report any accidents, collisions, damages, personal injuries, stolen or lost vehicles to the LeipzigMOVE hotline for e-scooters. (+49 341 492 1000). In the event of damage, you must contact us by telephone to find out whether you can continue your journey.
You must also report an accident involving personal injury, property damage or other damage to third parties to the local police immediately. This also applies if the vehicle was stolen while you were driving.
The maximum rental period, including paused time, is 60 minutes. After that, the ride will be automatically terminated. If you do not move the Voi e-scooter for 10 minutes or the dott e-scooter for longer than 30 minutes, the ride will also be automatically terminated.
Riding the e-scooter under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication is prohibited. It impairs your sense of balance, your reaction time and your judgment. This puts you and other road users at risk.
No, because you are not allowed to leave an e-scooter opened with your account to another person.
Here are some basic rules for your next e-scooter ride:
- Always drive sober
- Do not take another person on your e-scooter.
- Do not lend the e-scooter to anyone else.
- Only cycle on marked bike paths or the road

Germany ticket
You can add your D-Ticket to your LeipzigMOVE account in LeipzigMOVE and use it as your travel authorization. The D-Ticket will then be displayed at the bottom of the screen and can also be found under „Subscriptions & Bookings“ in the side menu.
To add the D-Ticket in LeipzigMOVE, simply click on „Add D-Ticket“ under „Subscriptions & Bookings.“ If you already have a LeipzigMOVE or LeipzigMOVE+ contract and your Deutschlandticket was registered under the same name, your D-Ticket will be automatically added to your account.
If automatic addition didn't work, you can also add the D-ticket manually. Please have your subscription contract number ready. If you have any problems, please contact our Customer support.
You usually receive the subscription agreement number directly via email after placing an order or can find it after a few hours in the Customer portal view under „My Contracts“. In individual cases, the review of your online application can take several business days, so your contract number will only become visible in your customer account afterwards.
No, but the app will take you to the customer portal to order your D-Ticket. Here's how:
- Open “Subscriptions and Bookings” in the side menu
- “Tap ”Add D-Ticket"
- “Select ”Buy New D-Ticket"
- Switch to the customer portal and buy your D-Ticket there
No, it is not necessary to carry the chip card for the D-Ticket. The D-Ticket in LeipzigMOVE, along with a valid identification document, is sufficient as proof of eligibility to travel.
As a customer, you are obliged to carry a valid ticket. If you do not have your chip card with you and cannot show a D-Ticket in LeipzigMOVE, you will not be able to continue your journey.
Unless you have canceled it, your D-Ticket will automatically be converted to a D-Ticket for the new month at the end of the month. This happens automatically and you don't have to do anything.
No, the D-Ticket is only valid for public transport. For bike & e-scooter sharing, as well as all other LeipzigMOVE services, you can simply sign up for a LeipzigMOVE or LeipzigMOVE+ contract under „Complete Profile“ and start riding immediately.

Germany semester ticket
Students from the University of Leipzig, HTWK, HHL, HMT, HGB, DHSN, or iba Leipzig can retrieve their Deutschland-Semesterticket via LeipzigMOVE and add it to the app. To be able to add the ticket, you must be registered with LeipzigMOVE and have an L-Login.
Follow these steps to add your Germany semester ticket:
- Log in with your LeipzigMOVE account or register with an L-Login (email address and password).
- In the side menu, go to „Subscriptions & Bookings.“
- Click the „Add D-Ticket“ button and select the „Add D-Semesterticket“ option.“
- Choose your university
- Log in to your university with your credentials and agree to data transmission to LeipzigMOVE
- Complete your date of birth
- Click „Add D-Ticket“ and have your personalized semester ticket issued.
You can then find your Deutschland-Semesterticket under "Subscriptions & Bookings" or as quick access on the start page of the LeipzigMOVE app.
There is a special solution for students of SRH University. You will receive an email from Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe with your contract number. You can use this contract number to retrieve your ticket via LeipzigMOVE.
Follow these steps to add your Germany semester ticket:
- Log in with your LeipzigMOVE account or register with an L-Login (email address and password).
- In the side menu, go to „Subscriptions & Bookings.“
- Click the „Add D-Ticket“ button and select the option „Add existing D-Ticket“.“
- Please enter your contract number, first name, last name, and date of birth.ImportantThe information must exactly match the email you received (including special characters).
- Click on "Add D-ticket".
You can then find your Deutschland-Semesterticket under "Subscriptions & Bookings" or as quick access on the start page of the LeipzigMOVE app.
No, you do not need to complete your profile in LeipzigMOVE. To access the Deutschland-Semesterticket, all you need is an L-Login consisting of an e-mail address and password.
With a completed profile, you also have the option to use services like bike sharing, e-scooters, taxis, or bike+ride.
Your Deutschland-Semesterticket will be converted into a Semesterticket for the new month at the end of the month. This happens automatically until the end of the semester and travel authorization period.
Your ticket will not renew automatically. You must retrieve it anew in the LeipzigMOVE app for each semester. Please update the app before activating your ticket.
Good to know: After activation, you will initially still see your current ticket. It will update automatically at the start of the semester. What's important is that you have received confirmation for ticket retrieval for the new semester.
We take the name data for the personalization from your university. For the ticket inspection, it is important that these name details match the details on your photo ID. Please contact the student administration of your university to have the data changed before you have a Deutschland-Semesterticket issued via LeipzigMOVE.
You cannot change the date of birth yourself afterwards. Please contact Customer service, to communicate your request.
We will take care of your request as quickly as possible.
This error message can have various causes. Below you will find a description of the most common errors and possible solutions.
- Your name data stored at the university is incomplete.
In order to issue a Deutschland-Semesterticket, we need the first and last name provided by your university. If this data is incomplete, you will receive an error message. Please contact the student administration of your university and have your data completed.
- The travel authorization period is not transmitted by your university
It may happen that we do not receive a travel authorization period from your university. This can have various causes and prevent your Deutschland-Semesterticket from being issued - e.g. if you have not re-registered for the semester or have not paid the semester fee in full.
Please contact the student administration of your university to have the case checked and to obtain a travel authorization.
- Driving license already issued.
The Deutschland-Semesterticket can only be linked to a LeipzigMOVE account. It is no longer possible to link the ticket to another account once the ticket has been created.
If your ticket has already been issued by another person unknown to you, please contact the Customer service. We are trying to help you as quickly as possible.
During a ticket inspection, your Germany Semester Ticket in LeipzigMOVE must be presented in addition to your current photo ID. Your name must match on both documents.
As a customer, you are obliged to carry a valid ticket. If you cannot show your ticket at LeipzigMOVE, you will not be able to continue your journey.
Your mobile ticket display is also possible without a permanent Wi-Fi connection, for example, during a train journey.

If you want to delete your LeipzigMOVE account, you can do so directly in the app in the main menu under Profile.
Important:
- Deletion removes personal data and active links.
- Existing subscriptions like the Deutschlandticket must be canceled separately.
- After deletion, access to past bookings and tickets is no longer possible.

In the event of improper use, the LVB is entitled to demand lump-sum compensation for the costs incurred, subject to proof of higher costs, in accordance with the list below. The user reserves the right to prove that no or less damage was incurred.
