Bike sharing remains in the north of Leipzig
The expanded bike-sharing service in the north of Leipzig was tested until the end of 2025 as part of a pilot project. Due to the positive user experience, the majority of the stations will remain in place after the end of the project.
The cargo bikes used in the pilot project will no longer be available in future. The bike sharing service will continue to complement public transport as a flexible and sustainable mobility option.
Bike sharing in the north
Simply rent a bike at a virtual mobility station in the north of Leipzig using the LeipzigMOVE app. You can recognize virtual stations by the road markings and the Nextbike icon in the app.
How to return your nextbike:
Bicycles must always be returned to mobility stations in the north of Leipzig. There are hardly any blue or pink zones in the extended area and many virtual mobility stations are only visible via the LeipzigMOVE app.
Otherwise, the return works as usual - free of charge in the blue marked zone at mobility stations, for a fee of 1 euro in the pink marked zone, 20 euro service fee outside these areas.
