How long can I drive?
The maximum rental time including the paused time is 60 minutes. After that, the ride ends automatically. If you do not move the Voi e-scooter for 10 minutes or the TIER (dott) e-scooter for longer than 30 minutes, the ride will also end automatically.
What should I do in the event of an accident, a stolen e-scooter or damage?
Please report any accidents, collisions, damage, bodily injury, stolen or lost vehicles to the LeipzigMOVE hotline at E-Scooter (+49 341 492 1000). In the event of damage, you must contact us by telephone to find out whether you can continue your journey.
You must also report an accident involving personal injury, property damage or other damage to third parties to the local police immediately. This also applies if the vehicle was stolen while you were driving.
How do I operate the e-scooter?
- To get going, stand on the e-scooter with one foot and push off with the other.
- Press the accelerator lever on the handlebars down with your right hand to pick up speed.
- Release the lever or carefully apply the handbrake on the left or right to slow down the e-scooter.
- Use the indicators on the right and left to show other road users where you are going.
- Put the e-scooter back on the stand when you have finished your ride.
How do I start and end a journey?
To start your ride, scan the QR code on the handlebars or enter the multi-digit code manually in the app and tap on "Start rental". The e-scooter is ready to go.
Make sure that your chosen e-scooter is fully functional to ensure a safe ride. If the e-scooter is damaged, please report this damage to the LeipzigMOVE hotline at E-Scooter (+49 341 492 1000). Customer support will let you know whether the e-scooter is still roadworthy.
To end the journey, park the e-scooter properly in a marked parking space, tap on "End" in the bottom right-hand corner of your active booking and then on "End journey". If you have any problems ending the ride, please call the LeipzigMOVE hotline at E-Scooter (+49 341 492 1000).
Do I need a driver's license?
No, you do not need a driver's license to ride an e-scooter (scooter) in Leipzig. However, to be able to rent an e-scooter from LeipzigMOVE, you must be at least 18 years old. Also make sure that you are fit to drive.
Where should I park the e-scooter after the ride?
All journeys with Leipzig e-scooters must end at a designated e-scooter parking area. The stations (mobility stations) are shown on the map in the LeipzigMOVE app. They are marked with a purple e-scooter icon.
Please note that parking e-scooters outside the stations is not permitted and will be penalized with a €25 fine. In addition, the journey cannot be completed, so the price per minute will continue to apply.
How much does e-scooter sharing cost in LeipzigMOVE?
The activation fee for e-scooters is €1 per ride. As soon as you start the rental, you pay an additional €0.22 for every minute or part thereof. This applies to the e-scooters of both partners (Voi and TIER (dott)).
What can I do if my need is not covered by a cab option in the app? (e.g. cab with child seat)

What can I do if my cab doesn't show up?
For various reasons, the cab may take a little longer to get to you. The cab may still be on its way to you. However, you can also cancel the cab request if no driver appears. As long as you have not yet started the journey, you will not incur any costs.
