We are getting the mobility revolution moving. In the north of Leipzig, we are launching an improved bike-sharing service that combines public transport with flexible cycling options. The pilot phase will run until the end of 2025.
Bike sharing in the north
Simply rent a bike at a virtual mobility station in the north of Leipzig using the LeipzigMOVE app. You can recognize virtual stations by the road markings and the Nextbike icon in the app.
How to return your nextbike:
Bicycles must always be returned to mobility stations in the north of Leipzig. There are hardly any blue or pink zones in the extended area and many virtual mobility stations are only visible via the LeipzigMOVE app.
Otherwise, the return works as usual - free of charge in the blue marked zone at mobility stations, for a fee of 1 euro in the pink marked zone, 20 euro service fee outside these areas.

How to return your nextbike:
Four cargo bikes are now available for you in the north of Leipzig.
Simply book via LeipzigMOVE and travel on for just 1 euro per 15 minutes instead of carrying on.

Cargo bikes must be returned to the home station.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, activate the "Pause journey" button in the app and then close the lock. During the pause, the rental fees will continue to be charged. To continue your journey, simply press "Continue journey" in the app and the lock will open automatically.
The loading area of the e-cargo bike may be loaded up to a maximum load of 50 kg.
You can easily switch on the assistance using the on/off switch on the bike computer on the handlebars. You can set the assistance intensity using the +/- controls. At the end of your ride, you can simply switch the board computer off again.
Cargo bikes can only be rented and returned at their home stations. The cargo bike stations are marked with "CARGO" in the app. You will find the name of the home station on the transport box. If a cargo bike is not returned to its home station, we charge a service fee of at least 20 euros.
Bike sharing is billed in 15-minute units - each unit or part thereof counts. One unit costs 1 euro. For example, if you cycle for 45 minutes, you pay 3 euros for your trip with LeipzigMOVE. The cargo bikes can only be rented and returned at their home stations. Otherwise there is a service charge of 20 euros.
