The BonusMOVE bonus program from Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) has been awarded the Founder Award at the German Bonus Award 2026. The approximately 35,000 registered users, 25 local partner companies, and over 5,000 redeemed coupons demonstrate the program's high acceptance among Leipzig's residents.
BonusMOVE was launched six months ago, in October 2025, with the goal of making public transport more attractive while simultaneously strengthening local businesses. The program is aimed at a broad target audience – from Germany ticket users and commuters to occasional riders. Participants collect points for every booking in the LeipzigMOVE app – whether for public transport, bike or e-scooter sharing, or taxis – which they can redeem for attractive benefits with regional partners.
The jury of the Founder Awards particularly recognized BonusMOVE's innovative approach: as one of the first bonus programs of its kind in German public transport, it combines sustainable mobility, digital customer communication, and local value creation.
„A good offer alone is not enough. People remain loyal when they are rewarded for their loyalty – in everyday life, tangibly, in their own city. BonusMOVE is our proof that customer loyalty works in local public transport when it is locally anchored and creates real added value. This can only be achieved together: with partners who support this approach and actively involve their customers. The award is therefore also for them. And it shows that Leipzig is taking a path here that is relevant for other cities and regions,“ says Steffen Palm, Head of Marketing Strategy and Business Development, Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe.
The collaboration with 25 Leipzig partner companies also underscores the local character of the program. BonusMOVE not only strengthens customer loyalty but also creates new impulses for local retail and gastronomy in the city. The award represents an important milestone in the still young history of BonusMOVE – and at the same time serves as an incentive to further develop the program and inspire even more Leipzig residents to use public transport.
